Recently, the class celebrated 70 years since their graduation with a heartfelt reunion at Central High School, where they spent quality time connecting with staff and school leadership.

During their visit, members observed some of the school's current challenges and were inspired to take action. To express their gratitude and support, they established an annual procedure for providing monetary donations to help the school continue its mission of excellence.

Principal and Leadership
​​The current principal is Anthony Holland, Jr., a Kansas City native and product of the Kansas City Public School District. He holds a Master's of Science in School Leadership from Baker University and is a doctoral candidate at the same institution. With 18 years of experience in education, Holland has taught at all three school levels in multiple districts and has served in various administrative roles, including instructional coach and district summer school coordinator. Prior to becoming principal, he was an assistant principal at Central High School.
Mission and Vision
Central High School is committed to encouraging positive student achievement and developing successful students. The school offers a comprehensive, competitive educational environment with state-of-the-art facilities, a full range of high school sports, and a variety of extracurricular activities. Students have access to advanced classes, Early College Academy (ECA), and Manual Career Technical Center courses, along with the Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) program. The community plays an integral role in the school's culture, with partnerships and volunteers providing students opportunities to learn about different careers and prepare for the future.

According to state test scores, 5% of students are proficient in math, and 22% are proficient in reading. The average graduation rate is 77%. The school has a student-teacher ratio of 14:1.

The school features a large, one-acre field house, a Greek-style theatre, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. Students can participate in various programs, including advanced classes, Early College Academy, and career technical courses. Extracurricular activities include National Honor Society, Student Council, Junior ROTC, band and choir, debate and speech, and a robotics competition team.
